Dimmers

Solutions to create different environments in a room while reducing energy consumption

We achieve the dimming of the light level of lamps and luminaires only by operating conventional wall pushbuttons, manually or automatically.

The most common dimmers are: push buttons, rotary potentiometers, 0/10V signal and KNX or Radio-frequency protocols.

What can be dimmable with DINUY dimmers

LED Lamps

For dimmable LED lamps only. It is possible to adjust LEADING-EDGE (at the beginning of the phase) and TRAILING-EDGE

LED Strips

DINUY dimmers allow you to control LED STRIPS at 230V. In low voltages 12V-48V LED strips, dimmers give the same option of control.

DALI and 1-10V luminaires

Dimmers for the control of luminaires with Driver DALI or 1-10V.

Advantages of dimmers

Energy saving

For a rational use of lighting, focused on reducing energy consumption.

Confort

Adaptation of the lighting level to real needs or for the creation of different lighting environments.

Visual welfare

Intelligent systems that adapt artificial light to natural light at any time of the day.

Applications

Home
Hospitals
Commercial premises
Restaurants and bars

LEADING-EDGE and TRAILING-EDGE in dimmer: DIFFERENCES

In both types, the voltage is clipped at different phases of the AC sine wave, either at the leading or trailing edge of the wave, thus reducing the power delivered to the lamps.

LEADING-EDGE (LEADING EDGE)

The Dimmer with leading-edge adjustment technology is the most used to control incandescent and halogen lamps. It is a technology that cuts the sinusoidal voltage wave at the beginning of the phase. As the wave cuts to the right, the effective voltage delivered supplied to the lamp decreases and with it the luminosity.

The LEADING-EDGE is compatible with R and L type of loads:

Incandescence, 230V halogens, low voltage halogen lamps with transformer and 230V LED lamps

TRAILING-EDGE (TRAILING-EDGE)

The Dimmer with trailing-edge adjustment technology controls the lamps at the end of the phase. It is a technology that cuts the sinusoidal voltage wave at the end of the phase. As the wave cuts to the left, the effective voltage supplied to the lamp decreases and with it the luminosity.

The TRAILING-EDGE is compatible with R, L and C type of loads:

Incandescence, 230V halogen, halogen with ferromagnetic or electronic transformer and 230V LED lamps.
