DINUY launches two new KNX solutions for comfort and energy management

DINUY continues to strengthen its commitment to KNX technology with the launch of two new devices designed to simplify the control and intelligent management of installations: the TS KNX 01N, a room controller that centralizes different building functions from a single point, and the ME KNT 163, an energy meter designed to monitor and manage electricity consumption in KNX installations.

TS KNX 01N: comprehensive room control from a single point

The TS KNX 01N is a room controller designed to centralize different functions within a KNX installation and make them easier for users to manage. From a single device, users can control functions such as lighting, blinds, HVAC and scenes, simplifying interaction with the different building systems and improving the user experience.

Its application is particularly suitable for different types of projects:

• Residential: allows lighting, blinds, HVAC and scenes to be managed from a single control point.
• Hotels: makes it easier for guests to manage room comfort, including temperature, lighting and blinds.
• Offices: enables the control of lighting, HVAC and scenes in meeting rooms, offices and workspaces.

One of the key advantages of the TS KNX 01N is its ability to be integrated into a KNX installation that also manages electric vehicle charging.

The controller allows the EV charger to become part of the home's or building's automation system, making it possible to manage different comfort and energy-related functions from the same system.

In this way, electric mobility becomes part of the building's intelligent management, together with the rest of the KNX devices.

DINUY's application diagram shows how the TS KNX 01N can be integrated with the KNX power supply, a DC power supply and a DINUY charger, enabling centralized control of the installation.

ME KNT 163: intelligent measurement for more efficient energy management

The second new product is the ME KNT 163, a single-phase energy meter rated up to 63 A, offering better than 99% accuracy and designed to provide precise monitoring and intelligent management of electricity consumption. Its high measurement accuracy makes it an ideal solution for installations where efficient energy management and optimized consumption are key priorities.

The device combines KNX and WiFi connectivity and offers different measurement options using a resistive shunt or current transformer, adapting to the requirements of different types of installations.

One of its key features is its ability to detect the direction of current flow, identifying whether energy is entering or leaving the installation. This is particularly useful in renewable energy systems, where energy can flow in both directions.

The ME KNT 163 also allows users to configure notifications, providing additional information and greater control over the installation's energy performance.

Thanks to its Wago® lever terminals, installation is quick and easy, reducing installation time by up to 60%.

A key element for integrating photovoltaics and electric vehicles

One of the main objectives of this new device is to enable smarter energy management in installations with self-consumption and renewable energy generation.

The ME KNT 163 can be used in homes and installations with photovoltaic panels, wind turbines or other generation systems, as well as in any project requiring electricity consumption monitoring and control.

In addition, the new meter offers a particularly relevant feature for DINUY's electric mobility range: it enables DINUY chargers to perform load balancing using photovoltaic energy.

This allows solar-generated energy to be used more efficiently by adapting EV charging management to the available energy.

To achieve this, the system uses two measurement points, one of which must be located downstream of the inverter. This makes it possible to determine both the energy generated and the installation's energy performance, allowing the vehicle charging process to be managed appropriately.

Beyond electric mobility

Although its integration with DINUY chargers is one of its most relevant applications, the ME KNT 163 is not limited to electric mobility management.

Its measurement capabilities, connectivity and KNX communication make it a valuable tool for general building energy management, providing information that can be used to optimize consumption and improve installation efficiency.

The device can therefore form part of automation solutions for homes, tertiary buildings and installations with their own energy generation, contributing to more accurate energy management.

Two new devices, one strategy

With the launch of the TS KNX 01N and ME KNT 163, DINUY expands its KNX portfolio with two solutions addressing two increasingly important needs in automation projects: simple installation control and intelligent energy management.

While the TS KNX 01N focuses on the user experience and centralized control of different room functions, the ME KNT 163 provides the tools required to monitor and manage the installation's energy performance.

Both devices can be integrated into broader KNX solutions, strengthening DINUY's ability to provide connected systems in which comfort, automation, energy efficiency and electric mobility form part of the same ecosystem.
